Power bank rental
station FAQs

Straight answers for owners and managers thinking about hosting a free power bank rental station. Can't see your question? Ask us and our team will get back to you.

01 · Cost and revenue

What it costs, and what you earn

How much does it cost to host a power bank rental station?

Nothing. It costs you £0 to host, for as long as you keep it. There is no purchase, no lease, no service contract and no invoice. We own the hardware and carry the risk.

All we need from you is a signed hosting agreement. In return your guests stay longer, because nobody has to leave when their phone runs out.

How do I make money from a station?

Three ways. You take a share of the income from every rental at your station. Your customers stay longer and spend more, because a flat phone no longer ends their visit. And you can sell the screen on the station to sponsors or use it for your own promotions.

How is the revenue share decided?

It varies from location to location. Your type of venue, your footfall and where the station can go all play a part. We go through it with you on a consultation call and set the split for your site. After the two-week trial we go through the usage numbers with you and agree the split for your location.

Is there a contract, and can I see the terms first?

The hosting agreement is one page with one signature. There is no purchase, no lease and no service contract. Ask us for the details on your consultation call, so you have read them before you sign anything.

Can we try it before we commit?

Yes. The standard trial is two weeks. The station runs as normal and we collect the usage data. Afterwards we go through the numbers with you and agree the revenue share split for your location.

Are power bank rental stations worth it for a venue?

They can be, especially where people wait or stay for a while. Because a Procura station costs you nothing to host, there is little to lose. How much it earns depends on your footfall, how long people stay and where the station sits. Our guide, are power bank rental stations worth it?, shows how the numbers work.

02 · Installation and running

How it works day to day

Who pays for installation, repairs and insurance?

We do. We deliver, position and switch the station on in a morning, and nothing gets drilled or wired in. We monitor every station remotely and restock and repair it on a schedule.

Theft, damage and liability are ours, including banks that leave the building. Every station is installed with £5m public and products liability cover.

Who owns the machine?

We do. We own the hardware, install it, maintain it and insure it. You provide the space.

How quickly can you install?

Installation itself takes a morning. The hosting agreement is one page with one signature.

We order machines one at a time, in the order hosting agreements are signed, so we give you a realistic window when you join rather than a date we might miss.

What do my staff have to do?

Nothing. Guests scan the QR code, pay on their phone and take a bank. If anything goes wrong they deal with us, not your front desk.

How much space does it need?

Half a square metre of floor and a mains socket within reach. The counter station can also sit on a shelf or bar top. We mark the exact spot with you on the site visit.

Who looks after the station day to day?

We do. Every station reports to us remotely, so we can see when banks run low or a slot needs attention. Scheduled visits keep it stocked and working, and every bank is tested when it comes back.

What if someone doesn't bring a bank back?

Their card carries on being billed by the hour, and any loss is ours to deal with. It never becomes your problem.

03 · Machines and branding

The machines

Which machine is right for my venue?

The Counter, with twelve banks and stackable to 24, suits cafés, bars, restaurants, gym floors and co-working spaces. The Floor 24 is a slim standing kiosk for hotel lobbies, gym receptions and shopping centres. The Tower 48 is waterproof and built for train stations and outdoor sites. See the machines, or ask for a recommendation on a free consultation call.

Do you have outdoor machines?

Yes. The Tower 48 is waterproof and weatherproof, and it is built for train stations and large commercial outdoor sites. We survey the site first to choose the best spot for footfall and power.

Can the machine match our branding?

Yes. Your colours go across the body and panel and your logo goes on the front. Colour, finish, panel graphics and logo are all agreed before the unit is built.

Can I use the screen to advertise?

Yes. The screen runs your promotions, classes or menu, and you can sell screen time to your own sponsors and keep the revenue.

04 · Guests and safety

What your guests see

Do guests need to download an app?

No. Guests scan the QR code on the front of the machine, pay on one secure page with Apple Pay, Google Pay, Mastercard or a debit card, and take a bank. The whole thing takes about a minute.

What does it cost my guests?

£3 an hour, with a one hour minimum and billing by the hour after that. There is no deposit and no membership, and they can return the bank to any Procura station on the network.

Which phones does it charge?

Every bank has Lightning, USB-C and micro-USB cables built in, so it charges iPhones and Android phones, old and new. Each 10,000 mAh bank holds two full charges of an iPhone 17.

Are the power banks safe?

The cells are certified, with overcharge and temperature protection. We test every bank when it comes back and take any unit that drops below capacity out of the network.
